The Bus

For T's first homework assignment he had to draw a picture of his favorite part of the day...the bus. I don't know why but he loved the bus and as you can see he got home safely!

He didn't have very much to say about the rest of his day. He said he really likes his teacher and the friends he made, but he was kind of disappointed. He said he was a little bored...sad! I guess we've been making too much of a big deal about kindergarten all summer long and he was expecting something spectacular. Oh well, I'm sure he'll thinks it's more fun as the year goes on.

Today's The Day

Today was the day...the day I've been dreading...the day T has been so anxiously waiting for. He's excited about everything...P.E., eating lunch in the big cafeteria, and RIDING THE BUS HOME!!! That's the big one, he can't wait to get on that bus. He's been asking us all summer if he could ride the bus. Chad's been okay with it the entire time, but I just really didn't want him to. To me there's just so many thing that could go wrong...what if they lose him...what if he gets off at the wrong stop...what about the 5th graders on the bus...the thought of it just really, REALLY stresses me out! Finally, after a couple months of begging, I gave in. I decided it would be okay if he rode the bus home...he gets out of school right in the middle of Anna Cate's nap time anyway. This way I don't have to wake Anna Cate up. I made the right decision...Right? TELL ME I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION!

Anyway...Saturday night I couldn't sleep thinking about my baby going to kindergarten and at about 1:30 in the morning, I finally had a break down. I mean...I sobbed for a good 30 minutes! Ridiculous I know...but it is unreal how fast these 5 years have gone by. Oh how I wish it would slow down! Chad and I prayed together and I felt much better.

Today...I was fine. I teared up a bit as we were walking him into his room but seeing his face light up when he saw his teacher made it okay. We've been praying all summer for his teacher. I think she is going to be wonderful and Turner's going to love her.

Mrs. Ciccone and Turner

My prayer is that Turner loves school. That God will stay by his side since I can't be. That he will remember what he's learned about Jesus and he will be an example for other little boys and girls. I pray that he will make good friends...friends from a christian home. God please take care of my sweet little boy!

When I found out I was pregnant at the age of 19...I was terrified! I thought my life was over. I was just a kid and I was having a kid. Chad and I prayed...so much...that's all we could do. We asked God to forgive us and we prayed that he would see us through it. We had so many odds against us. Oh how he's blessed us! He put Chad and me together...a perfect match. He gave us Turner and Anna Cate. He has never, ever, let us down and we could have never done this...it never would have worked if we hadn't put Him into the center of our lives. Thank you Lord...THANK YOU!!

A Little Sword Fighting

They do this all the time. Turner fights with his pirate sword and Anna Cate fights with her princess wand. It's hillarious and as you can tell Anna Cate gets very serious about it! They love each other so much.

A Weekend in Sweet Home Alabama

Last weekend we decided to pack up and head to Troy to see Chad's parents (a.k.a Nana and Papa). We hadn't been in a while and we needed some Alabama time. We love Pensacola but Alabama will always be home!

Chad got off work early Friday and we left as soon as I got off work. As soon as we got there we ate a wonderful supper and, of course, rode the 4-wheelers. That's what we do when we go to Troy. We ride 4-wheelers, feed the fish, and hunt armadillos. Yes, it's redneck but we LOVE it...especially my kids.

Saturday we ate breakfast, rode the 4-wheelers, ate lunch, and after Anna Cate's nap we went to Prattville. Chad's Uncle Urban called and wanted us to meet them at The Catfish House in Prattville. We were so happy to see Uncle Urban, Aunt Kay, Susan, Maw-Maw, and Ga-Ga (Chad's grandparents). We had a great meal and loved spending time with everyone. Both Anna Cate and Turner have a really neat bond with Ga-Ga. They're just drawn to him. After dinner we headed to my parent's house to eat homemade icecream!!!! My favorite! We had a great night with our family...we wish we could see them all the time. :(

Here's some pictures of the kids at The Catfish House...

After church Sunday morning some of our friends from college came to eat lunch with us at Tommy and Dyan's (Chad's parents). We had so much fun spending time with Will, Jared and Julia, their 2 beautiful girls, Nixon, and Isla, and Bryant and Whitney. (Just so know we love and miss Bryant and Whitney so much!!) Jared and Julia had to leave early to put their girls down for a nap. After they left we, of course, rode the 4-wheelers. Chad and I were on the first one, Bryant and Whitney were on the second one, and Will and Turner were on the third. We were having a great afternoon, taking our time, and hanging out. After feeding the fish, we were making our way up to the hay field when Chad suddenly stoped. SNAKE! BIG FAT HUGE SNAKE! In less than a second, I somehow make it to the back of Bryant and Whitney's 4-wheeler without even touching the ground. Me, Whitney and Turner are all standing on top of a 4-wheeler andWill, Bryant, and Chad are all standing on top of our 4-wheeler when they discover that it's a RATTLESNAKE! Thankfully Chad had a gun...he shot it square in the head. I hate a snake...chills...they give me chills.

We decided to show the snake, who Turner named Risky, to Tommy and Dyan. Even though it didn't have a head, it moved for over an hour. At times, it even looked like it was trying to strike at Chad (he held it all the way back to their house). GROSS!

Turner was excited to take the rattle home with him!
We had a great weekend, spending time with so many people we love so much.

Anna Cate's First Haircut

Anna Cate finally got a haircut. Nothing major...she just had some crazy long pieces in the back...didn't look so great. My mother has been bothering me about this for months, so I finally did it. Last Thursday Chad met me and the kids at the salon so I could cut their hair. Anna Cate went first and she did great. If you give that child a snack she'll sit still for anything...she loves to eat. It only took about 5 minutes and her hair looks so much thicker in the back. She thought she looked so pretty...she's so funny!

I also trimmed T's hair...trimmed being the key word. He still wants to grow it out like Tarzan's. We'll see! He had to have a little trim though. He can't start KINDERGARTEN looking like a throw-away. KINDERGARTEN!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!! There will be a blog about that later.

Here are some pictures from that day...

Rednecks really love a yard sale...

Sorry it's been a while, we've been busy little bees!

Last Saturday was the day of our very first yard sale. We had a joint sale with our neighbors Josh and Alisha...who are wonderful by the way. Love, love, love them! They do so much for us and our children think the world of them. Our good friend Doneen also came to sale some things. Our yards were covered with stuff!!

Seriously...I didn't realize how much work is involved in these things. Chad and I stayed up until 2:00 Saturday morning getting things priced and ready. I had absolutely no idea how much stuff we had...it was ridiculous! The amount of clothes that my children had...well it's just crazy. Anyway, we got up at 5:00 Saturday morning and we had our first customer at 5:30. Yard sale people are nuts!!! We had some very interesting customers....

Sweaty Arm-Pit Guy: Wow! Probably hadn't bathed in about a week. His little girl wanted a Scooby-Doo stuffed animal so he picked it up and put it under his SWEATY ARMPIT! She was begging him for it and he kept saying "I don't know if we're gonna get this honey...I don't know" and we were like Yeah...you are Smelly McSweaterson...you're going to buy that stuffed animal. Let's just say he bought Scooby! The next day the same guy came by to see if we ever sold our couch. He had decided he wanted to buy it...he was wearing the EXACT SAME OUTFIT!!! So gross!

Crazy Milk Lady: As we were beginning to pack everything up, our last customer pulled up. This old lady was very nice, but NUTS! She stayed at Josh and Alisha's for a good 30 minutes and then finally made her way over to us. She literally stayed an hour! This lady was yard sale crazy. Her car was COMPLETELY packed with all of her purchases for the day. She made a huge pile of stuff she wanted and then wanted to write us a check. We ended up just giving her all of the stuff for a quarter. We couldn't get rid of her...she wouldn't quit talking. She finally sat down and then asked for a glass of milk. Chad gave her some milk, she drank it, and left. Wow!

Talks A Lot Korean Lady: "I Korean" and "Pope Benedict save my life" are the only things we could understand! She was actually quite cute and very friendly but we couldn't understand anything she was saying and she was saying A LOT! I don't even know how she got started...she just started talking and it was all over from there. I finally just walked off and left Chad and Doneen with her. She kept talking for a good 20 minutes and Chad and Doneen still don't have a clue what about. So funny!! "I Korean." "Pope Benedict save my life."

Oh I could go on and on about our morning...people are so strange! Our first yard sale was a success. We made some money and got rid of a lot of junk. So glad it's all gone!

On top of only getting 3 hours of sleep I also had to go to work. Our salon was doing a wedding. I had to do 3 up-do's (I hate up-do's) and after the wedding party I had to do 3 haircuts. It was a long day! We were all in bed that night by 8:00 and we all slept until 8:00. We even skipped church. We were so tired!
