A Weekend With Some of Our Favs...

Well Friday after Turner's Turkey Trot (a race where they got a feather each time they crossed the finish line and the class with the most feathers won a prize) we headed to A-U-B-U-R-N!
Turner and I about to cross the finish line for the first time...
We got to Auburn about 4:15 on Friday and we were SO happy to be there...seriously we love that place! We stayed the weekend with our dear, dear friends Ray and Lee. T was really excited to spend time with Price, Emerson Ray, and Ella Ann. Wow...those kids have changed since the last time we saw them. Emerson and Ella were happy to meet Anna "Cake" :)

Saturday, Lee gave AC her first "Big Girl" haircut. I've trimmed it, but Lee actually cut it. It is so adorable. She has the cutest little bob and, of course, she thinks she looks "petty".

All done...I'll try to find a better picture...

You can see it a little better in this one...
We had the best time and ate way too much. Ray is a WONDERFUL cook AND we got to eat at two of our favorite places...Momma G's and The Brick Oven...YUM!

Sunday we had to pack up and leave...bummer.

T has school today and tomorrow and then we will be leaving again...this time to Prattville. SWEET HOME ALABAMA!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

*I'm an idiot and didn't take any pictures (other then the few I took of AC's haircut). I'm really sad about this...I simply just didn't think about it. Boo!

Tis' the Season...

We're excited...are you? AC is fascinated by her Christmas tree. She loves it and definitely loves the color pink...oh she's such a priss pot and I'm LOVING it! She's learned the word Santa and says "HO HO HO". :) T decorated his tree all by himself...didn't he do a great job? He's asking Santa for EVERYTHING...he has a ridiculous amount of stuff circled in the Toys R Us book of toys. I wonder what Santa will choose to bring???

Playing Restaurant

I am so thankful that my children absolutely adore each other. Yes, there are times that AC drives T crazy (especially when AC messes up T's room...he's very particular about his room) and there are plenty of times when they get in a "mine" fight (that word drives me nuts!) but the majority of the time they love each other.

They've always played together, in fact T has always been very good at making his sis' laugh, but recently I've noticed how well they play together. The older AC gets the more T enjoys playing with her...it's such a joy to watch.

Tonight was my all time fav...they played restaurant! AC has a little kitchen in her room so while I was folding clothes they were fixing me all kinds of goodies. T was the "fry cook" (we watch a lot of SpongeBob) and AC was the waitress. The best part of all of this...AC was totally using her imagination with T. She knew exactly what they were pretending and it was adorable.

AC would come take my order and T would cook it right up. T would say "order up" and AC would bring my meal...she'd say "Here it is".(they were using a large board book as a tray and smaller books and toys as food). AC was so proud...she'd wait for me to "eat" my food and take the "tray" back to T. We did this over and over again for almost an hour...I loved every minute of it.

I am more than thankful for these two!

Not Me! Monday

This is something super fun that I came across today.

I most certainly did not eat a Reese's Cup, a mini bag of M&M's, a mini bag of Tedddy Grams, and a box of Nerds for lunch! :)

I am not desperately in need of a shower nor do I still have on my pajamas(neither does T).

I am not in awe at how sweet my Turner is. (he was not more than willing to help clean the house today.)

AND...

I am most definitely NOT obsessed with my Uggs!

Check out MckMama's blog for other Not Me! Monday posts.

Our New President

"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." Romans 13:1

Okay, so I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed about the outcome of the election. Anyone who has the pleasure of knowing me (ha) knows I would have never voted for Obama...NEVER. As a Christian, I disagree with everything he stands for...EVERYTHING.

I must admit, in the weeks prior to the election I was having a hard time. Every time I saw an Obama supporter horrible thoughts went through my head and usually came directly out of my mouth (Anyone who has the pleasure of knowing me (ha) also knows that is probably my biggest weakness...verbal vomit I guess you could say.)

Over the past week my God has softened my heart. Our pastor spoke Sunday, about the election and his main point was that our Lord is sovereign. He has supreme rank...not Barack Obama, not John McCain. God has allowed Obama to be appointed as president of our country and as a follower of Christ I find comfort in knowing that our Sovereign Lord has a plan. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8 He has always known who was going to be our president, after all He put him there!

It is my duty as a Christian to submit myself to the authority of our new president and it is my prayer that God will help me keep my attitude in check. Let's pray for Barack Obama (he's going to need it) and who knows, Our Sovereign Lord might just change his heart!

Last time I checked, Barack Obama isn't in control of my joy. I will be JOYFUL in God my Savior!

Coloring With Nana

The Entire Month of October...Whew!

A few quick randoms...

AC got a new pair of Uggs...She LOVES them.

Turner got his first report card...it was perfect!

Now for all of our fall festivities...

Our neighborhood had a block party...AC wanted to go down the slide again and again and again.

We went to a pumpkin patch...(Becky made their shirts. Aren't they great?)

and then came home and painted our pumpkins.

This will become a new tradition because everyone (even Chad) thought this was a lot of fun!

We went to the Fall Festival at church...

Turner with his "girlfriend" Julia...They are really great friends!

Yum!...Cotton Candy

I have more pictures of AC then I do of T...He was to busy with his friends. SAD!

And finally trick-0r-treating...

This picture makes me smile!

What a strong Batman!

Ready to trick-or-treat

Aren't they cute?

The older he gets, the more he looks like me.

Our first stop of the night.

The kids with their loot!

What a fun-filled month! Anna Cate was completely into Halloween this year...she LOVED wearing her costume. Turner, of course, thought he looked super cool...and he was right!
