I Have a New Obsession...

And because of this new obsession, I learned how to make this...

...homemade ice cream in a ziploc baggie.
It only takes five minutes.  Seriously.
Was it good?  Yep.
Will I make it again?  Every day.

Do my kiddos and their cousins look adorable whilst enjoying their own personal baggies of homemade ice cream?  Yep.

Summer Fun in the Son

Every summer our church does a week long event called Summer Fun in the Son.  It's a fabulous week for kids K-5th grade filled with water, fun, and Jesus.  For the past 3 years I've loved being a leader.

This summer has been a little different. Our beloved children's minister has decided to retire after almost 25 years of devoting her life to leading children to the Lord.  She is amazing and so loved.  My children adore her, especially Turner.  She's just, for lack of better words, the best...the very best.

We've been on our own this week, without Mrs. Jean to lean on.  It really has gone wonderfully, without a single glitch, BUT we have missed Mrs. Jean tremendously.  Especially today...she would've loved today!

We took all 40 kids to the beach.  We had a picnic lunch and snow cones.  The kids were so well behaved and to top it all off there were starfish EVERYWHERE!  I have never seen a live starfish until today.  The kids found at least 30.  It was so much fun and I'm glad T and AC will always have this memory.

The kids made a cross with all of the starfish they found.

To Blog Or Not To Blog...

So, I'm guessing, because I'm really important and everyone is dying to know what I'm going to write about next, (AHEM...yeah right) you've noticed that I haven't blogged in over a month.

Here's the thing...I'm pretty sure that I'm not in love with this whole blogging thing. I think it's super fun to read the blogs of friends and there are a few that I'm even obsessed with...i.e...the sister-in-law's...let's be honest...she's hilarious.

I'm not a writer...in fact...I've decided that it bores me to tears. I would much rather be having a tea party with AC or playing cards with T.

So...

Farewell blogging world. The Friday family is out! Holla! :)

AC and I just had a fight over a trash can.

I walked in our bedroom to find her with our trash can (it just sits by the desk, waiting for junk mail...not too gross...but gross) on her head.

This is how our conversation went...

Me: GROSS! Get the trash can off your head!

AC: NO! I wan twash can on my head! Now she's running from me singing a song she's made up about said "twash" can on her head.

Me: Put the trash can down...NOW!

AC: Okay (in a sad pitiful voice) as she puts the trash can down.

Me: Put it back where you found it please.

AC: I wanna put twash can wight here.

Me: Anna Cate...

AC: EXTREME melt down...I mean baby llama, red pajama FIT!

Now, she's screaming in her bed.

Oh the joy of a 2-year-old princess!

A Smorgasbord of Sorts

It's been almost a month since I last blogged. (I know how disappointed you all must have been...HA!) Sorry, but t-ball has ruled our lives. It's crazy how much ball a 6 year old plays. It's definitely T's favorite sport and he's loving every minute of it. He's even been awarded 3 game balls...we're so proud of how well he's done! It's kept us very busy...fo sho!

I keep picturing my life in just a few years...when AC's around T's age. I think I'm always on the go now, but it's only going to get worse. AC's going to start dance next year and I'm sure that's just the beginning. I so did not picture myself being such a typical stay-at-home mom, but God did. I wouldn't have it any other way...not a chance! What a blessing to be able to be so constant in their lives...I know it makes them feel secure.

I never posted anything about our Easter. It was wonderful, of course. It's
probably my favorite holiday...I love everything about it. We were in Prattville for the weekend and had lots of fun with my family. And, of course, we ate WAY too much. Hallelujah! Jesus is alive!

T and I having been begging, literally begging, Chad to let us get a dog. He FINALLY gave in. I found our sweet doggie on Craigslist. He had a great family, but they've been traveling a lot. It made them sad to keep putting him in kennels, so they decided to find him a new family...US!

Odie is a 3 year old beagle...so cute! He's absolutley perfect for our family, and although he's destroyed EVERY set of blinds in our house (Yay for me...I get new blinds), we love him. T and AC adore him and he adores them. Even when AC is pestering the crap out of him, he just sits there and takes it. He's such a sweet boy.
